Yesterday when I got home from work, I found Owen and my parents at my apartment! They decided to stop here on their way back to Michigan. They spent the last couple of weeks down in Florida for the 4th of July.
As always, Owen was cracking me up! That kid loves me more than anyone else in this world! I was greeted with big hugs and "hey kik look at this" and "hey kik guess what" and "hey kik remember that". He was so wound up, but all good! It's nice having someone admire me that much :)
We went and saw the movie "Zookeeper" last night too. It was cute! I think I have a soft spot for Kevin James! There's something very endearing about the characters that he plays! Owen enjoyed all of the animal antics...he had some really good belly laughs when the animals gave Kevin James' character advice...like when the monkey said "just throw poop at her"...Owen thought that was absolutely hysterical!
After the movie we came back to my place. We ate some ice cream and watched America's Got Talent before heading to bed. Of course Owen slept in my bed...and by that I mean I got kicked in the face, ribs, side, etc. He is such a wild sleeper! He'll end up in a completely different position from where he first started!!
Then today I had a half day at work. Once I came home, my mom made us some lunch and I played some Wii with Owen before they continued on their journey back to Michigan. They drive me a lil bit crazy when they're around, but all in all, I liked the company!
Speaking of work...I have to say that I love my job! Professionally I have grown soooo much! I do so much now! Plus I really love doing storytimes! I love being a children's librarian almost as much as I did being a young adult librarian! Yesterday I had 18 toddlers at my storytime! I did the awkward turtle and you would've thought I was the coolest person in the world! Kids are awesome with giving ego boosts (but they are just as good at bringin you down in an instant).
As for the song challenge: Day 21 – A song that you listen to when you’re happy. Lots of songs make me happy!! This is probably one of the hardest ones to pick. Today's choice is Got My Mind Set On You by George Harrison. It's an upbeat song you can dance to. The video is totally ridiculous. It's 80s George (totally sexy). Plus it's basically set in a library! It's a win win win all the way around! It will make you happy too!
