Last day of mini-vacay

Soooooo, today is the last day of my mini-vacay for the 4th of July. I ended up with a 4 day weekend which was much needed since I got sick and needed to rest and not worry bout work or supervisor stuff! I like that I've been able to train myself how to not check my email for work, unless there is something super important...because let's face it, if I'm expecting something important, odds are I'm checking for it and at work!

Essentially today I slept in until 8:30!! Woo hoo! A whole half hour later than usual :P All good. I listened to another cd of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (and I have to say it's one of the best books because it doesn't drag at all)!!

Then I made my way to Walgreens in order to stock up on meds. I am going to kick this summer cold's butt! I don't have the time or energy to be sick for 3 weeks so I'm going to do my best to get healthy fast!

Once I had my meds in tow, I decided to go and see Cars 2. I needed to see a movie that would be awesome, and Cars 2 was what I needed. It's really more about giving character development to Mater! I <3 Mater! He is just so good. He might not be the brightest and people sometimes think he's stupid, but he's just so good that you have to love him. Since I moved to KY I have gotten to know a lot of Maters and honestly, I am happy to surround myself with them. Good, honest people are hard to come by in this world. When you find them, hold on!

After the movie, I stopped by Starbucks because I was feeling like I needed a frappuccino to make me feel better. It was super yummy and something I only get once in awhile...so seriously it was awesome! I found it kind of comical though...while I was in there I only saw 2 other drinks than fraps...summer is here and I think everyone is craving something cold and caffeinated.

Then I came back to my place and read the rest of "The Girl Who Became A Beatle" on my patio, while soaking up some sun. It was a decent YA read, but if you don't know anything about the Beatles, most of the humor in the book would go over your head! All in all it was amusing.

Once finished I came back inside. It was then that it started to thunder/lightning/rain/sunshine all at the same time! How I love crazy summer weather like that!!

And finally for today's song challenge: Day 16 – A song that you used to love but now hate. There are many songs/bands that get overplayed on the radio. You then go from loving them, to hating them. For me this happened with a once-upon-a-time-famous-no longer famous-band called Sugar Ray. You could really pick any of their songs and insert it here. In an interview Mark McGrath said they had named one of their albums 14:59 because their 15 minutes of fame had yet to expire. They were a great band, but alas their songs got overplayed and now their 15 minutes of fame are officially up. The song I used to love most by them was probably Fly. You know the words...you know you can sing along "I just want to fly. Put your arms around me baby, put your arms around me baby..."
