Summer Reading Kick Off

Well today was the big day! We had our summer reading kick off! Since this is the first year we're going online, it's a bit daunting for folks! All in all, though it is going relatively well!

We had a big bash today-- a balloon artist on stilts, face painters, crafts, storytime (which I kicked butt at by the way), a carnival game, a dance party and all of the youth services staff dressed up as book characters!

This year, I decided to be Alice in Wonderland...some kiddies thought I was Cinderella because of the shade of blue, but it was all good :) The kids just make me so happy :) I got tons of high fives, and positive comments about the event!

Today, I realized how great I am at running events...not to toot my own horn here, but like always, not everything went perfect and everyone commented on how well I was able to keep "controlled chaos" (which I've termed it).

Also, my co-workers are the best! They are truly team players, and I am always grateful for that! What a great day... :)
