Another birthday...

So today is my birthday. It was quite the birthday so far too... I got to spend my entire day with Owen. Just Owen & me. This = awesome!

First we went to Chuck E Cheese. We played many games and won 400 tickets. Owen picked out a few prizes and we laughed about how goofy they were when we got back in the car!

After that we went to the movies. We saw "Mr. Popper's Penguins" and this was a big hit with O...so much so that we had to go to the store to buy him his very own (stuffed) penguin! Because he loved three of the penguins in the movie, he decided to combine their names and name his new penguin "Captain Loudy Love"!

Then we went to Bdubs and watched some sports. I tried to explain to Owen the way tennis is scored while we ate, but I don't know if he ever really caught on. It is Wimbledon, however, and it is awesome! Because O was so well behaved, I let him have $2 to try to win a ball out of the machine. He was thrilled when he won a ball and still had $1 left in his pocket...

So then we went to the dollar store so he could find another prize with the leftover dollar. He decided to get a stuffed hammerhead shark. Apparently that's his favorite shark in this world.

Then we stopped by O's new house, to see how my dad and Kev were doing. They've been sanding the walls all day getting the house ready to be painted (hence that's why I had O to myself all day). The house is cute, and I think it will be beautiful once they get all settled in.

After we left there, Owen and I drove to downtown Plymouth and got ice cream at Dairy Dan's. As we walked over to the park, it started to rain, but it didn't ruin our time. We ate our ice cream under an awning, and by the time we finished, the rain had stopped too (gotta love those short showers).

Finally, we played a bunch outside, until Ang came home and took O to his dad's for the night.

All in all, it has been a great birthday.

As for today's song challenge--Day 11 – A song from your favorite band. Well, an obvious favorite band of mine would be the Beatles. Since it is my birthday and all I think, Birthday by the Beatles is extremely fitting.

  1. Way to go Owen! Getting a prize from those machine's isn't easy. Happy Birthday!
