Wild Wednesday

Okay, so it wasn't really a wild Wednesday at all...I just wanted the alliteration :) Today did start out a bit wild. When I went to wash my hair this morning, a big ole spider landed in the bathtub...even now I do not know if there was a spider in my hair or if the guy descended from the ceiling as I started to wash my hair...it was early and I didn't have my glasses on, but it was totally ick!

But even that wasn't as ick as yesterday when I went I opened my car door at work to get out and a bird tried to fly in my car. It touched my arm and everything! I screamed and the landscape guys laughed at me...go figure.

Then tonight I watched the Stanley Cup Finals. I was rooting for the Canucks, so of course they lost :P All good though. Timmy Thomas (Boston's goalie) played the perfect game! He had a ton of shots on him, and he saved EVERY single one! The Bruins deserved to win and I'm truly happy for them! They waited 39 years for this after all! There was a time when my beloved Wings had to wait many years in order to win Lord Stanley's Cup! Way to go Boston! And seriously, Timmy Thomas, you couldn't have played any better! I'm glad you got MVP! Plus you're from Michigan, so you're alright in my book ;)

As for today's song challenge: Day 07 – A song that reminds you of a certain event. This was a tough one for me. I didn't know what I was going to pick until a memory popped into my head at random today... Today's song choice is God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You by *NSYNC. Now what event could that possibly remind me of? Well it reminds me of when my neighbors' daughter Nicole was getting married!

Melissa and I had gone to visit our neighbors, Mama Tav & Papa Jer. We used to go there quite a bit just to talk with them about life because we could. Anyways, one day they were super excited because they had just heard that song and Papa Jer thought it was the perfect song to dance to with Nicole at the wedding. I don't quite remember why, but they decided to play the song for us (even though we knew it). Then, Mama Tav & Papa Jer danced to it in their kitchen.

I remember how happy they were. They looked lovingly into one another's eyes and just danced. They truly loved one another and love like that is special. I guess that's why I remember it...

Sadly a few years later my Papa Jer passed away, and even today I miss him quite a bit. Mama Tav was never quite the same after that...but in that moment everything was just so sweet and happy. I wish all days could be like that :)

  1. Aw that's such a sweet story. And funny you picked an Nsync song because I can't escape them. They played No Strings Attached at Laurel Park today and Just Got Paid at Coldstone yesterday. Also I would have died if a bird touched my arm!
