And the busy continues

So, I haven't really slowed down this past week. I ended up having to work a few longer days, and then I was so far over my hours, that i got to leave early on Friday. I then proceeded to drive up to Michigan and hang out with the family.

On Friday night, Angela made dinner for Kev, Owen, Melissa, & me. It was yummy! We all hung out and took turns with Mikayla! That baby is just sooo darn cute! When 9 PM rolled around, Melissa, Owen & I went out for 9 o'clock ice cream! I got confused as to which place they wanted to go, and took them to downtown Plymouth to the Dairy King. The man made Melissa and my ice creams first then told Owen that they ran out of ice cream...it was pretty funny! Luckily he was just joking and Owen didn't miss out on the yumminess... Instead my little guy ate a huge banana split boat almost completely by himself.

On Saturday, I did a lunch run for my parents and Kevin, since they were almost finished painting the new house. Then I got to feed Mikayla for the first time...it was sooooo precious. She's such a calm baby. She just stared up at me with her big beautiful eyes... I'm really starting to want one of my own...hopefully in a few year's time.

Later that evening Owen and I went and saw "The Smurfs". It was smurfy! It will make you sing "la la la la la la la la la la la" for hours on end... It was pretty cheesy, but I think overall Owen had a good time watching it...so of course I did too!

Sunday, we went to church. Then Melissa and I met Carrie for lunch at Cheeburger Cheeburger. I love that place! The food was super yum, and I ate way way way too much! We had some good conversation and as always lots of laughs :)

That evening, my mom made a great dinner and the family played some ladder golf outside. It was super hot out, but totally fun! If only I could've won a game :( It's really not my game, but it is a total blast to play :)

Then I drove back to KY. It was a decent drive and I made good time, so I got a good night's sleep!

Then today at work I was totally in a good mood! No real reason why. I was just sort of peppy and bouncing off the walls with happiness. I even named a crafting program "unicorns & glitter" in our rough draft until I can come up with a better name! But seriously, Martha Stewart and crafts make me happy like unicorns and glitter!

And now for the song challenge: Day 29 – A song from your childhood. Lots of songs remind me of my childhood. My mom exposed me to a lot of music and I think through her I developed my love of music. My mom had all these awesome records that belonged to my grandpa and all sorts of records from her teenage years--many of which had stories attached to them. My mom exposed me to the Carpenters, Carol King, Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby, Doris Day, Glen Miller, etc. The list is really vast and I love her for it! I know more songs from the olden days than most people my age...there are some real goodies out there. So picking a song from my childhood is extremely difficult!

So I'm gonna go a little out of the box here and pick Bad Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce. I can't hear this song without picturing my mom singing this song! She knows every word! My mom has always sang and danced to music with us growing up and I love when I catch her doing the same with Owen! Although Owen's thing right now is "She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain"...you'll never hear a version quite like it from anyone else! I love that baby!
