So far I have really enjoyed being off Saturday and Sunday (and to think I have tomorrow too)!! It's not often that I get 3 day weekends without anything planned!
So yesterday I slept til 10! I'm still surprised by this... Then I watched Netflix all day! I watched an episode of Buffy (since I'm on Season 7, I've been taking my time because I don't want it to end all over again!). Then I watched the "North & South" miniseries again...the last 10 minutes are the best, but this time I picked up on so much more than I did the first time! I highly recommend it (thanks Melissa).
Then I watched "Sinatra: the Classic Duets". It was fun to see the performances! Have you ever seen this clip? I don't know how I've NEVER seen this performance before, but it's soooo classic! Frank had Dinah Shore in giggles throughout! It's a lovely medley! If you've never seen it, please click the link and watch it! It's truly a joy! Once the giggles start...they don't stop! I love it!
Then I watched "Rio" which was so-so and "Prom" which was actually better than I thought it'd be! All in all, it was a good day of Netflix-ing! Then I read some before heading to bed!
Today, I woke up early and went to church! Then I went up to Newport. Tonight they're supposed to have fireworks on the river, but with the way the weather is today, I wonder if they'll actually be able to! I went and saw the movie "The Help" and it was really really really good! Just remember "you are smart, you are kind, you are important."
After that, I treated myself to lunch and a Sam Adams Oktoberfest beer! It is one of my favorite seasonal beers! Soooooooooooooo yummy! Plus it was the special so it only cost me $3.
Then I went to the aquarium to check on my fish. Sadly the place was packed with kids from wall to wall and it made it less peaceful and serene...I usually go right when they open so I can pretty much have the place to myself.
So now, I'm back home again and just in time too...the rain is starting to fall heavy again...
Now for some more laying around and Netflix-ing... Oh happy weekend off!
I've tried to watch North and South twice this weekend but I can't get into it. Did you read the book? I think that's killing me. It's NOTHING like the book. At least the first episode isn't.
ReplyDeleteStick with it! I had a super duper hard time getting into it the first time I watched it. The first 2 episodes were hard to get into, but the end really made it worth the watch. I didn't read the book, but I watched the mini-series bc Melissa made me.
