Hello peeps

Again, time passes too quickly.  I have been so busy lately and I owe a bunch of phone calls and emails to friends.  I'm hoping to catch up on that this Labor Day weekend, but who knows?

Since we last met here, I ran our summer reading stats at work, and overall = not good.  The people in our community just aren't coming in right now, and while there's a million reasons for why that may be happening...it just sucks for numbers.

Then I went down to Tennessee for Charaya's wedding.  I was a bridesmaid in the wedding and I know she was thrilled that I could be there.  All in all, it was an interesting experience, but she seems really happy--so I'm happy for her and I wish them the best!

Then I ended up spending an extra day in Nashville and I'm so glad that I did!  I ended up going to the Grand Ole Opry and doing a behind the scenes tour, which was AWESOME!  Then I went to the Ryman Auditorium to see where the Opry got its start and did a little self-guided tour.  Then I went to the Country Music Hall of Fame.  I opted for the Studio B tour and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life!  To be in the same place where so many amazing artists recorded...I have no words.  It was a moment in time where I felt completely transported to a different world...it was AMAZING!  Then I went over to the Frist Museum to see the art deco car exhibit which was pretty awesome in itself.

Do you see the orb on the piano?  It's possibly one of the ghosts of Studio B.  They say the place is haunted.  Also, this piano has perfect sound.  Elvis wanted to buy it and the guy who owned the studio told Elvis, that even Elvis couldn't afford to buy this piano:

Then it was back to the daily grind.  Found out Cassandra had her baby girl and my friend Mary had her son.  Then I wished Ms. Odile a very happy birthday!  It's a milestone and I hope she enjoyed it :)

Then I threw a party for my teen volunteers.  We had only 2 show up but all good.  I had more RSVPs, but they ended up not showing up.  But the two who did, really enjoyed themselves.

Then we celebrated Melissa's graduation from grad school by giving her a cake with a graduation cat (inspiration: Graduation cat).  We went to Slows BBQ for lunch and then the rest of the family came over for a pizza party to celebrate.  Good times for sure.

Then Melissa and I went to see Maroon 5/Kelly Clarkson.  Kelly is the cutest thing ever.  She was bouncing up and down on the stage!  She seemed so happy!  It was great to see!  Maroon 5 = too commercial and I'm pretty much over them.  I like their old stuff and miss when they rocked out.  Now they are just too mainstream for their own good.  Adam Levine didn't even give a shout out to the lawn.  That's crap in my book.

Here's Kelly bouncing around on the stage barefoot:

One of the only songs that they actually played well on:

And even with all that I've been up to, I'm still doing the T25 workout.  I'll be halfway through the program on Saturday.  It's a journey, but I'm making progress!

    1. Thanks. It's a journey, but I'm really trying hard to stick to it. As for a movie night, sure, let's hope we can find a date though...this fall is BUSY!
