Wedding Season!

So this past weekend, Melissa and I drove out to Maryland to see my best childhood friend, Jenn get married.  The first day we drove to Linthicum and spent the night.  Then the next day we got up and went to Fort McHenry.  That's where "The Star Spangled Banner" was written.  Also, since it's on the water, the view is pretty great!

Then we made our way to Denton, MD for the wedding.  We were doing great on time until we got to the Bay Bridge.  HOLY TRAFFIC HELL.  It took us 45 minutes to go 2 miles to get to the bridge.  Absolutely ridiculous.  So by the time we made it to the hotel, we only had about 20 minutes to get ourselves together to make it to the wedding.

It was pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but it suited the bride and groom.  First up they got married outside and although it was 96 degrees, the shade of the trees allowed us to feel a little breeze during the ceremony.  They both looked great and so happy!

Then for dinner it was basically a big bbq.  There was roasted chicken, a roasted pig and all the fixins:
Then the dancing began.  I had the DJ play a Backstreet Boys song since Jenn, Melissa, and I went to 2 of their concerts growing up.  They were our favorite boy band.  Here we are getting our groove on:
We also ended up lighting lanterns and sending them into the sky, but one got stuck in the tree...so Jenn had to spray it with the hose to put out the flame before the tree caught on fire.  Also, the lanterns looked way cooler in Tangled...in person, they were sort of a let down for me.
All in all though, it was a nice trip.  It was fantastic seeing Jenn so happy and I truly believe they will have a great marriage.  It's hard to believe how grown up we are now, but I'll always love Jenn as my first best friend.  The trouble we used to get into...
