100 Things About Me

So Carrie recently posted a 100 Things About Me blog post that she found through Pinterest.  Since I read through all 100 of her factoids, I figured I should repay the favor and let her read through mine!  For the rest of you, enjoy.  You may learn something new about me.

1. I think there's a Goo Goo Dolls song for every situation in life.  That band has gotten me through quite a bit.
2. I love music and concerts are one of my favorite activities.
3. My dad took me to my first concert--Bryan White and LeAnn Rimes--when I was 13 at DTE when it was still Pine Knob.
4. I prefer listening to the radio rather than watching TV
5. However, I do love to watch movies and get my money's worth out of Netflix
6. I'm a bit obsessed with Shaun T since starting T25. I don't ever want to stop doing it.
7. I'd rather be ice skating than doing anything else
8. I have no idea why I'm so attached to the sport of ice skating, but I hope that the USFSA can get their act together since figure skating enrollment is down everywhere and has been declining for years.
9. I don't read many books.  I've skimmed plenty.  I've read the beginning, middle, and end of many as well.
10. I love Martha Stewart.  That woman is a genius and through her website/magazine/tv shows I have learned so many tips!
11. I have the biggest feet in my family for the girls.  I come in at a size 9 when my sisters and mom are all smaller.
12. Owen is still my little man.  As he gets older, he drives me nuts more frequently, but I love getting to see him everyday.
13. I think it's funny when Mikayla calls Melissa "Kiki", just to irritate Melissa.
14. I like calling Owen "Owen Shkamowen", Mikayla "Kayla Bear", and Jack "Jack Attack"
15. I have a hard time turning down cookies.
16. My favorite movies are Singing in the Rain and When Harry Met Sally
17. I have a hard time connecting with people on deeper levels
18. I try to be as honest as possible at all times which sometimes makes people dislike me
19. I think it's fair to say that I have a "take it or leave it" personality
20. I love sending and receiving real mail
21. I've finally gotten my Diet Coke problem under control, but I still crave one every day
22. I will only take the Disney kid gummy vitamins because they are amazingly delicious
23. I very rarely let people know what's really going on with me because I have issues with vulnerability
24. I think snow is magical
25. I love fairies and butterflies and girly mystical things
26. I have always been fascinated by the story of Peter Pan and even wrote a college paper on how it should have been called Wendy Darling instead
27. I always thought I'd be an actress, instead I became a librarian
28. No matter what it is, I always think I'm not good enough
29. Despite that, I'm still perceived as a very confident person
30. My favorite color is red
31. People always compliment me when I wear shades of purple
32. Most people think I look better with blonder hair
33. I like my eyes; I think they're pretty; plus they change color depending on what I wear
34. I can't wear knee-high boots because I can't get them over my calves
35. I love Bath & Body Works soaps
36. I wish I could afford to shop the Kate Spade catalog; I have a few select items, but want more
37. When my co-worker Joi and I work together, we often sing made up songs to get through the shift
38. I like sad songs
39. I can find a song for anything--to describe our friendship, to describe how I'm feeling, to describe what I'm thinking
40. Holidays are supposed to make you feel happy, but they usually make me sad, although you'd never know it
41. I miss my Grandma and wish I could go visit her, watch the GSN, and hear the latest gossip
42. I have a weakness for peanut butter m&ms and consume inhuman amounts of them
43. I enjoy steak more than any other type of meat
44. I collect shot glasses, but I'm picky about which ones I'll purchase
45. I make an effort to vote every year because I know it's a right people still fight for around the world and too many take it for granted here in America
46. I have a ton of clothes but often look at what I have and think "I have NOTHING to wear"
47. I buy Christmas presents all year long and keep them hidden
48. I've often considered myself to be designer goods, slightly damaged--like TJ Maxx style
49. Kids like me, which in turn makes my job much easier
50. I hate air freshners because they all smell like "poop spray" to me; I think they're disgusting and I hate the floral/fruity poop smell; you're not disguising anything people
51. I always want more for people; I genuinely care about the well being of those around me and I want them to get the most out of life
52. I don't really believe in "tomorrow"; if there's something I want to do, I do it; no bucket list because I don't leave opportunities behind
53. I'm extremely introverted so being around people exhausts me
54. I enjoy every Adam Sandler movie, even when they are terrible!
55. I have a very busy schedule all the time because I like to visit with people and do things outside of work
56. I love biographies because people are complicated
57. I like that Pope Francis is telling people to refocus on the message of Jesus because really that's what the Church is supposed to be about
58. I want to inspire others
59. Although I loved being there, I never felt at home in NYC
60. I always felt like KY was my home away from home
61. I feel God always puts me where I am meant to be, and as a result my life is awesome
62. I love accessorizing and think it's something I'm actually pretty good at
63. I could watch the BBC Pride & Prejudice with Collin Firth every single day and never get sick of it
64. I still hope that I will be a mom at some point, but that clock is ticking faster and faster every day
65. I truly doubt that there is someone out there for me and I'm okay with that
66. I wish people would stop telling me "you just haven't met the right person yet" 
67. I think I was an annoying child; "hula hula hula"
68. I wish I could get street cred for knowing all the words to Gangsta's Paradise
69. I cannot turn down a cupcake from the Cupcake Station
70. I like to go to casinos and play slot machines
71. I still make wishes on stars
72. I am extremely competitive
73. So much so, that I try to be the best at everything including zumba...yeah I will out zumba you!
74. I like ugly things and take pride in decorating with them
75. Talking on the phone can seem like a chore
76. I don't get dolled up for anybody buy myself
77. I like crafting 
78. I wish I had more time to create things
79. I get cranky if I don't get a full night's sleep
80. I'm a morning person
81. I have blocked most of my childhood school memories
82. When Melissa and I were younger we pretended we owned a company called MKT workers
83. I fell down the stairs and hit my cheek into a old tv and had to get 24 stitches, but it healed well
84. I have a scar on my forehead from hitting it into a wooden toybox corner, it did not heal well
85. You can see a lot of the veins in my body
86. I am eternally grateful to Ford Motor Company and all they have done for my family throughout the years
87. Scandal is my tv show addiction right now, but it's been creeping me out lately as it goes down a dark path
88. To me, fall is defined by Oktoberfest beer
89. I hate being the odd man out 
90. I wear a Red Wings baseball cap when my hair looks like crap and I'm too lazy to do it before going out to the store or wherever
91. I get attached to one item of clothing and it becomes my go-to; I used to have a little red jacket, now it's my gray sweater
92. If it were 70-75 degrees everyday, that would be perfect
93. I tried out for American Idol when it was in NJ because I wanted to say that I did it; needless to say, it didn't go well :)
94. I am the worst auditioner in the world because I always syke myself out and choke on the spot
95. I am terrified of coloring in the bubbles on scantron tests because I'm always afraid I missed a tiny spot or went outside of the lines and it won't be counted
96. I have this silly memory of my Grandpa riding down the metal slide with me in the middle of summer and it burning his legs and him yelling as he slid down, but if I've made it into more than it was because minds can play tricks on us
97. My childhood friend, Jennifer, and I got into all sorts of trouble growing up--although most of it was her fault since I was impressionable and she had all the bad ideas
98. My first official job was bussing tables at a Knights of Columbus restaurant when I was 14
99. When I was little I used to dress up in all black and pretend I was Sandra Dee
