It was nice to have this past weekend off. On Saturday, I was a homebody, but I got my apartment spiffed up.
Then I read half of a hilarious YA book called "Ten Things We Did (and probably shouldn't have)". The first 5 things cracked me up. I'm hoping to finish it this weekend...unless I have the energy for it after work one day this week.
That's the rub...when you work in a library all day and read ALL DAY LONG (stupid emails), you don't want to read when you get home!
Then I watched "Alexander's Ragtime Band" on Saturday night. For a 1938 movie it was a bit edgy with making light of alcohol and divorce. I loved it :)
On Sunday, I went to church. It was cool. I like my church. The people there are just so sweet to me. They always say hello and ask me how I'm doing and open the doors for me. They're just so darling!
Then I chatted with Melissa on FB chat (that is indeed a rarity) before heading out for the day--poor kid had to work. I ended up going to the movies and seeing "Friends with Kids". Although it was predictable, I liked it. It was a bit off-beat and quirky, but I enjoyed it. I also got a free Diet Coke because apparently my stubs card wanted me to have one.
After the movie, I walked through the Aquarium...but sadly it was a bust. They're moving things around for Mighty Mike's return next week, but because of that all of the turtles weren't visible. Also, they MOVED my FAVORITE fish. They're now in a boring tank and I don't like it. They used to be the center of attention. However, the new stingrays are awesome!
Then because it was seriously one of the most gorgeous days we've had in a long time, I decided to walk to Ohio. Because the view is prettier on the Ohio side (you see KY that way), I decided to sit down on a bench and just enjoy the sun. However, people kept sitting down next to me to talk. I felt like I was at work. I heard about 6 people's stories. It started to feel like work, so I walked back to KY.
Then I came home and dyed my hair basic light brown again.
Today, I watched the new version of "Footloose". My curiosity got the better of me. The original was better, but they stayed true to the theme of the original and I can see a younger crowd liking the updated version...although the outfits they wear to the dance at the end are pretty much the same as the original and that was weird. Nobody is as good as Kevin Bacon in that role. Sorry, but he wins hands down! Plus Chris Penn was way better as Willard. But, I've seen worse movies...
