Thanksgiving and such...

Hello world! How've you been? As I'm sure you have figured out by now I have been quite busy! Work keeps me busy, but so does life. I find myself catching up on movies and decorating and crafting more than I have in a long time and I'm really enjoying it!

As you know, I went home for Thanksgiving! I was supposed to work that Sunday, but at the last minute one of my co-workers swapped Sundays with me so I could spend more time at home, which was super duper nice! One thing about my co-workers here is that they truly do look out for each other and now they look out for me too!

Anyways...so I went home for Thanksgiving, and albeit a small family gathering, it was quite nice! Owen is pretty big on holidays and such right now, so we had some new things incorporated into our feast! First we all had to wear homemade hats. Melissa, Owen, and I were Indians, while Angela, Kevin, and my dad were Pilgrims (my mom had to work and Nick/Julie/Jack were too cool for us).

Here we are with our awesome hats (minus Melissa bc she took this photo):

You have to admit, our hats are pretty awesome! lol! So we all ate dinner with our hats and then afterwards we had a planting ceremony in the backyard. Owen and I showed the pilgrims how to plant seeds so they would survive the winter while Melissa took photos and laughed...which was all in good fun!

Everyone got along relatively well and I would say it was a successful meal! My dad cooked his first turkey and he was so proud of it! He can be way too cute sometimes!

On black Friday, Melissa and I went to JCPenney at 10 am so we could get early bird boot sales, and then came home. We don't believe in the crazy shopping rush anymore because we end up fighting...so instead we get in and get out!

Then I went to lunch with Missy and Mindy! We had some Bdubs and good catching up conversation, which was nice! I love my twins to pieces and I enjoy the time spent with them even if it is usually way too short and not often enough!

Then on Saturday Melissa and I met up with Cassandra and Thea for dinner at Olga's! I haven't been there in quite some time, and I forgot how much I love me some 'snackers! Both ladies are doing well, and that makes me happy!

Then Sunday we stopped in at the casino for an hour after church and I won some money which was super nice :) Then Melissa and I got tortured driving all around town looking for the impossible to find Advent candles. After that I had some dinner and drove back to Kentucky.

As for this week, it has been going by relatively fast! Work is always steady, if not busy and it keeps me on my toes! Lots of things to do :)

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
