So by now you've realized I sort of fell off the map--in the blog world, email world, phone world, and real world. Things have been a little crazy, but no worries, I am doing fine. Just hit a little bump in the road and currently I'm getting back to being my normal self...slowly but surely...So, I'll tell you a few things that have stood out that are worth mentioning...
I went to a Rascal Flatts concert and Darius Rucker opened for them. Now, Darius Rucker is one lucky bastard. Here's a man who had great success as leader of Hootie and the Blowfish singing pop music, and now he's being welcomed with open arms into the country world... Darius is so comfortable singing the country music and he's GOOD at it! He also sang his big Hootie songs, and the crowd went wild for that stuff too! He sang Hank Williams Jr's "Family Tradition" and Prince's "Purple Rain" bold choices for both genres...GO DARIUS! What a cool inspiration! Then when the Rascal Flatts came out they were great too! They have come so far, and sing so well live! I loved it :D
Also of note, I had my 2 year anniversary of working at BPL and became a mentor for 2 high school student interns...it's a trial and error thing so far, but I think we're finally starting to make it work with fewer and fewer glitches...definitely a learning experience.
My parents also made a visit out to NYC for a long weekend to see me! It was great to have them come visit me. Sometimes it just feels so lonely here in the city, but having them here made me feel better. My mommy cooked for me and cleaned, while my daddy did my taxes for me. I got rides to and from work, and treated like a princess! I love that they spoil me :D
Alright well, I guess that's about it for now! I'll try to update more often!
Rock on, Kat! We love you!
