Fun with Jen

Yesterday I went to see my friend Jen.  I got to hang out with her son, Sven and brand new baby girl, Leia.  It was great seeing her and the kids!  I can hardly believe how much she has changed since I first knew her, but it's all for the better.  She is a great mom and wife and doing really well in the scheme of things.  I didn't realize how tough her pregnancy was this time around, but I am glad to say that both mom and Leia are doing remarkably well!

As for Sven, the kid cracks me up.  He calls me "Kitty Kat", since that's what Jen has always called me.  He also asked me many many questions while we played with his zillions of dinosaurs.  He is so cute and didn't want me to leave either--he even asked me if I would come back again (in his words "what about this Sunday?").  What can I say?  The kids love me.  There's a reason Melissa calls me "the baby whisperer."

Then last night I went skating.  I forgot how hard it is to break in a pair of skates.  Luckily the rink was pretty empty so I could use the ice to its full capacity without any problems.  While there, a 12-year-old decided to be my best friend.  She asked for some coaching advice, which of course I was glad to give.  It's nice to be respected on the ice, even if I am not the greatest skater in the world.  Most of my basic moves are still golden--so it's just going to take a few more practices to make perfect (and break in the leather of my skates).

All in all though, it was a great day off from work for me.  Although, today I'm back at work, but it's all good :)  I feel like I'm doing what I need to be doing again and it's great!
