Today I got a great look at Mighty Mike! He's HUGE! He's 14 feet long and over 800lbs! I've seen lots of gators in my life but never one this big--especially since average gators are only 10-12 feet in length! Mike has an interesting story too...apparently he was found down in Florida bout 10 years ago and ordered to be killed because he was seen as a threat to the people in the area. Instead someone decided to basically adopt him and ever since he's been traveling the states visiting different zoos and aquariums for people to see! YAY for not killing him. Although if I saw him out in the wild, I'd be TERRIFIED! He's just HUGE! Unfortunately due to the lighting, I couldn't get a good photo :(
As for the new penguin exhibit, the actual area with the penguins isn't all that different! lol! They're still in the same area and their habitat is relatively the same. The viewing area is a lot nicer and now there is an interactive display for kids to learn more about the cute little guys!

This is the turtle I've been wanting a picture of FOREVER! He's totally cool! He swims with the sharks in the big shark tank! Today he went right above me :) Normally he's just chillin in a far corner!

After the aquarium I went and saw the movie "Arthur". I love Helen Mirren and Russel Brand was pretty good too! It was a nice way to pass some time during a crazy thunderstorm!
Then I came home and talked with Melissa before heading to church. This week's Lenten call is to: "find the courage to respond to God's call and leave the darkness behind." Hard to believe Palm Sunday is next week already! Then Easter...then my sister gets married :) So much in a short amount of time!
